The wide tree-lined avenues along which the marathon runs take the runners past important landmarks and emblematic places that will remain etched in the memory of runners and spectators alike. From early in the morning, people crowd the roadsides to shout cheers, clap, wave banners and sing songs in support of the runners, independently of the various musical and cheering groups. The course is certified by the WA/FMAA/AIMS, marked with a stripe and all kilometers are marked according to World Athletics regulations. The race is included in the WA International Calendar. The race has the distinction of World Athletics Gold Label.
